Rabat - Migration public strategies should rely on a concerted approach combining security, human rights and human development, minister delegate for foreign affairs Youssef Amrani said on Thursday in Rabat.
Amrani : Management of migration should rely on approach combining security and development

Given that States alone cannot manage this very complex phenomenon which involves both the security and humanitarian issues, it is necessary to support countries concerned within the framework of an approach of joint responsibility and development between Africa and Europe, said Amrani at a meeting on the second high-level dialogue on international migrations and development. He launched a call for Maghreb countries, mainly Algeria, to get more involved in efforts meant to fight the negative impact of this phenomenon on the region, insisting on the fact that the migratory issue, which is a shared responsibility problem, requires concerted responses by all parties concerned.

As for Morocco, which has become a destination for sub-Saharan immigration after being a transit country, the official reaffirmed the government's commitment to elaborating a national, global and integrated strategy on immigration, in addition to a pilot project to include this issue in public strategies.
