Marrakech - Works to prepare an additional marquee dedicated for Covid-19 patients were launched on Saturday, in Marrakech, with the aim of alleviating the pressure on the city's hospitals. Thus, the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Karim Kassi-Lahlou kicked off the development works of this marquee built over 1,600 m2, with a capacity of 200 beds equipped with all medical equipment necessary for the health care of Covid-19 critical cases.

The setting up of this facility is part of the constant efforts to deal with the changing epidemiological situation at the national level in general and at the level of the Marrakech-Safi region in particular. This epidemiological situation is characterized by the resurgence of Covid-19 cases, which puts additional pressure on the health system. This marquee is in addition to another set up at the Ibn Tofail hospital under the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center (CHU) in Marrakech, also dedicated for coronavirus critical cases.
